Gilroy Co is a licensed apparel and accessories brand developing streetwear collections in collaboration with global and cultural partners, distributed through youth retail channels across Australia.
I worked across design direction and product development, translating licensed brand identities into apparel, headwear, and accessories through graphic systems, pattern development, and seasonal collection design. This included ensuring consistency across ranges while working within brand guidelines and production requirements.
Collaboration Overview
These collaborations brought together licensed partnerships with Corona, Sesame Street, and Victoria Bitter to develop streetwear apparel, headwear, and accessories sold across youth retail stores in Australia.
Each collection translated distinct brand identities into apparel through considered use of colour, motifs, and strategic pattern repeats, ensuring consistency with each partner’s brand integrity while adapting them for a streetwear context.
The products were elevated through detailed finishing techniques including embroidery and branded trims, reinforcing identity and enhancing commercial appeal across retail ranges.
Victoria Bitter Loungewear x Gilroy Co.
The licensed collaboration developed a luxury resort inspired loungewear collection for the iconic Australian beer brand, referencing a Hugh Hefner inspired aesthetic and vintage VB branding.
I led the design direction, working within Victoria Bitter’s brand guidelines to reinterpret the vintage logo and visual identity into a premium apparel context. The collection elevates the brand through considered material and finish applications, including branded trims, embroidery, gold piping, chenille appliqué on polar fleece robes, and discharge prints on cotton sateen.
The outcome is a refined loungewear range that repositions Victoria Bitter within a luxury lifestyle setting while maintaining strong brand recognition through its original identity system.
